What do I value?

Tonight at church Jim was preaching about Isaiah 54 again (part of the i54 campaign)and the focus this week was God's stretching us to make us stronger. Ever since i54 started and I read the scripture God has been dealing with me about my tendency to think that everything in my life is fine. Now I know we are supposed to be content, bloom where we're planted, be thankful, etc. I'm not talking about becoming negative and complaining all the time. However, I tend not to dream big or to allow God to bring big dreams into view for my life. Well, that is changing. Suddenly I have been having multiple ideas for books, businesses, parenting, homeschooling, just about every area of my life. Tonight God was speaking to me during communion time that when I decide to go after something I really want, I devote time, energy and thought to it. I try with all my might to win the prize. Lately, my focus has been on "winning" things that aren't actually what I value most. When I focus on those, the really important, the eternal, stuff gets slighted. My goal for this week is to select the few highest valued prizes I will go after this year and break it down into a plan with measurable goals. Nine out of ten people will never change even if they are killing themselves with their behavior. (Change or Die) I want to be the one. I want to be the one who God can mold into a flexible strong instrument for His use. I want to be the one who comes back to say thank you for all He has done for me. I want to be the one who launches others to be a "one."

Project 365

I am doing project 365, where you take a picture a day. I am scrapbooking two pages a week with the photos. Here are the pages from the first week of the year... As you will see, we had the absolute best start to the year possible!

New blog header

In honor of the new year I created a new blog header with Judah and Jasmine and their build a bears. They got to make the bears (Troy and Sally - names by Judah) with all their Texas cousins on January 3rd. Cappy and Sasha gave them all gift cards to Build-A-Bear and an outing was born!
The header is created using Helen Ehrenhofer's Baby Cottage Blues page kit and the fonts: Pass the Chex, LithographLight, and Lima Bean.
